Producer
As Greenway Farms founders we have had previous experience in running a food business. We still teach farmers and food producers in the developing world about food safety and international trade in agriculture. We strongly believe that everyone should have access to affordable, real, nutritious, and safe food. This is why we adhere to our principles of eliminating the use of GMO products, synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, and educating everyone about the benefits of aquaponics food production.
Before starting our farm, we spent many years working in the processed food and agricultural technologies sector, supporting food producers and farmers around the world. Our work included developing and delivering training programs on food safety, integrated food production systems, and international agricultural trade. Through these efforts, we collaborated with farmers, food processors, and agricultural organizations across international borders to strengthen food safety practices, improve production efficiency, and promote more sustainable and resilient food systems.
These experiences shaped our vision for Greenway Farms. We saw firsthand the importance of producing food that is not only safe and sustainable, but also accessible and affordable. This inspired us to establish a local farm in Maryland where modern and sustainable recirculating agriculture systems can be used to grow fresh fish and vegetables efficiently while conserving water and natural resources.
Today, Greenway Farms brings together global experience and a strong local commitment to produce clean, nutritious food for our community while continuing to share knowledge about responsible and sustainable food production in Maryland and beyond.
At Greenway Farms, we produce high-quality vegetables and fresh fish using responsible, sustainable farming practices. Our crops are grown from certified organic seeds, and our fish are raised on high-quality feed sourced from manufacturers that follow the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) Feed Standard, which promotes responsibly sourced and sustainably produced aquaculture feed. We carefully select feed suppliers that prioritize traceable ingredients and environmentally responsible production.
We do not use antibiotics, pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers in our production system, allowing us to grow clean, fresh food while protecting the health of our fish, plants, and surrounding environment.
Our farm operates using RA²S (Recirculatory Aquaculture and Agriculture Systems)—a circular farming approach that integrates fish and plant production while conserving water and nutrients.
Greenway Farms is also a USDA Harmonized GAP+ and Maryland’s Best Local Farm & Fish certified farm, reflecting our commitment to food safety, sustainability, and locally grown food.
We supply restaurants and retail partners throughout the DMV region (Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia). Because our food is grown locally, it travels only a short distance from farm to table—arriving fresher, tasting better, and supporting our regional food system. Our customers choose Greenway Farms because they know exactly where their food comes from and trust the way it is grown.
Circular farming, certified food safety, and locally grown fish and greens you can trust.
