About Us
Davis Highlands Orchard and Farm is a family-owned farm located on 18 beautiful acres in Manchester, MD. We grow a variety of fresh fruits, including apples, peaches, pears, and plums, and operate a mushroom farm in Phoenix, MD, producing a range of gourmet mushrooms. In addition, we raise several hundred layers for farm-fresh eggs. As first-generation farmers, we take pride in our work and can be found at farmers markets across Maryland, sharing our passion for high-quality, locally grown products.
Practices
Ethics
Our livestock are members of our family. Our poultry are truly free-range, receiving a diverse diet of produce, forage, and grains, all while living a fulfilling life outside. The result is happy birds and wholesome eggs.

Quality Control
We aim to surpass Maryland Department of Agriculture and USDA standards for agricultural production and sanitation. Read the MDA egg producer/packer standards here. All products are thoroughly checked for quality before sale. Our products are adored by high end restaurants, hotels, and chefs. Even celebrities have tried our products. We provide top shelf products at an affordable cost.

Sustainability
When we speak of sustainability, we aim to sustain our operation for generations. This can only happen if we care for the environment and soil health. We are constantly mindful of what we are doing to the ground. We only intervene in the natural processes when the negatives outweigh the positives.

Diversity
We believe diversity is a strength. Our farm members reflect our society, full of diverse ideas, origins, and credence. Each member of our team carries divergent worldviews that converge in one place. We accept all, welcome all, and respect to all–regardless of religion, gender, skin color, creed, or sexual orientation–with or without tail feathers.

Education
There is always more to learn. We visit local farms and take notes from the professionals who have generations of farm knowledge. We are constantly reading the established and cutting edge literature–from the past and the present–to make our farm classically new. We plan to open our farm to the public for events to teach what we have learned.

Community
We live by the motto: “Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with them twain.” We are committed to Maryland kitchens, both home and commercial. We meet residents and chefs face-to-face to offer friendly and family-oriented customer service.

Integrity
As author C.S. Lewis famously stated: “Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is looking.” We always tell the truth to our customers and each other. We are honest in all of our business relationships and dealings, both inside and outside of the farm. We aim for transparency, giving all who ask the information they need to trust our farm and maintain our integrity.
