About Us
Since our container farm touched down at The Covenant House in Southeast Washington DC in 2023, we have been working hard to feed, educate, and inspire communities towards a vision of a more equitable, sustainable, and resilient food system. Our founder's vision is to bring sources of food production closer to food-insecure communities as a way to increase fresh food access, and create employment and educational opportunities. In doing so, the aim is to inspire and engage those who are vulnerable to fresh food insecurity to lead food system transformation within their communities.

OurFarm joined a vibrant urban agriculture ecosystem in the Greater Washington DC area, that shares their vision. Much of our success has come from partnering with other organizations that are working towards our shared goals, and creating value with our focus on designing, installing, and maintaining productive community farms.

Our aim for the near future is to grow our network of community-based farms and our team of urban farmers across the Mid-Atlantic Region (and beyond!) - feeding, educating, and inspiring people towards a brighter food system.
Practices
Our "home" farm, where it all began, is based at The Covenant House of Greater Washington in Ward 8. We have trained returning citizens to operate the 400 sq ft hydroponic container farm, and use the produce to make healthy meals that get distributed to food-insecure individuals in the surrounding community.

4,000 lbs Fresh produce grown per year and distributed to surrounding community.

10+ Returning citizens and unhoused youth trained and paid to work on the farm between 2024-2025.
